Chrystal Young

Co-Owner, Marketing Director & Finance

Finding a new found freedom in 2004, Chrystal went looking for adventure. Sailing! That looks like fun! But, where would she start? She didn't know anyone with a sailboat. She signed up for a week-end class at a local community college. The first time on the water and she was hooked! Now what? She still didn't know anyone with a sail boat. She went looking for a boat but found a sailor instead! That's how she met Chris.

Chrystal first came down to the Grenadines in 2008 with Chris – for one month the first year, two months the second year, and four months the third year. Now she's happy to call Grenada and the Grenadines her home and together Chris & Chrystal run LTD Sailing.

Chrystal's background is in Adult Education and Outdoor Leadership. She is an ASA certified sailor, avid kayaker, and PADI certified diver.

She likes Chesney's song: "Call your mom, buy a boat, Drink a beer, sing a song, Make a friend, can't we all get along!"

Chris Rundlett

Co-Owner, Founder

As the son of a son of a sailor, Chris began his first sailing adventure while his dad was stationed in North Dakota with the U.S. Coast Guard. Finding an abandoned little Sunfish and restoring it, he set sail on his own at 13. Since then, he dreamed of bigger horizons and sailed whenever he got the chance. In 2005, Chris says, "I decided to stop dreaming my life and start living my dream!”

After successfully running another sailing school for five years,  Chris decided to become his own boss and launched LTD Sailing on 1/3/13. He wanted to use the best boats available, with the best instructors and the best provisioning to provide not just a sailing course but a PREMIERE sailing experience!

In 2014, he became a yacht broker when he realized he spent most of his free time messing about in boats anyway. His certifications include: USCG captain, instructor for ASA 101 - 114, and instructor evaluator.

Chris says “I really love taking people out on the water to share my passion for sailing and the cruising lifestyle. It’s wonderful to see that ‘a-ha’ moment when everything comes together!”

Dionna Young

Hi. My name is Dionna. I am a vacation planning specialist with LTD sailing. I live and work in Seattle, Washington and I am lucky enough to call Grenada my second home. I have sailed in the South Pacific, San Juan Islands, the Mediterranean, and of course the West Indies. I might not be at the helm of a sailboat, but I will definitely be on the bow with a cocktail. I love to travel and spend time with my family. They call me the queen of flights; I will always find a good deal!

I originally within a sailor family in Southampton, England. During college I studied Travel and Tourism with a strong belief it would bring adventure to my life. This is where I befriended a British-Grenadian and decided to come out and visit her family one summer. After that, at the age of only 16, I never really returned to the UK, making the dollar by working on yacht charters, deliveries and boat cleaning jobs all over the Caribbean islands and Central America. Eventually, my heart forced me back to Grenada, where I met my now husband, Antonio and recently celebrated a new arrival of our baby girl, Tulie. Now I am really living my dream, a more settled land-based family life with LTD Sailing as the office manager. My motto is: “Home is where your passport is!”

Kashera Flemming

Hi! My Name is Kashera. I am a born and raised Grenadian.  I joined LTD Sailing in 2021 as the Office Assistant. I have never done an ASA class before, but I love preparing the classes to go out and learn about the sailing life since I came part of the LTD Sailing Family which has been an amazing feeling. Just recently I took my first dinghy ride and experienced what it’s like to sail on a catamaran. Everyone at LTD is such remarkable people. During my spare time I love to meditate and, I love to go hiking into nature! I am looking forward to growing my time on the water as my career in sailing unfolds.

Jenni Hellpap

In her youth, Jenni spent summers fishing, swimming and power boating on the water in Wisconsin. Yet, there was something SO enchanting about sailing. Inspired by the book Embarrassment of Mangoes, she stepped aboard a sailboat for the first time at the ripe old age of 18 earning her American Sailing Association (ASA 101) certification. She wanted more!

A non-sailing career had her traveling from the USA to Europe, Africa and ending up in Grenada changing her life forever. Her determination and passion for sailing had her moving from student to office manager at LTD Sailing  to foredeck crew on the race team to instructor apprentice and eventually to ASA Instructor, RYA Yachtmaster and USCG Captain. She has skippered and taught on boats like that Ideal 18 to Balance 452 catamarans and beyond. She crewed with Andy and Mia from 59 North (Sailing Podcasts) on Ice Bear and “Team 35” was born. Since then she has braved may boat delivers through out the pandemic.

"Jenni from the dock: She used to sail a little, now she sails a lot!"

Originally from Germany, I has been living on the waters of the Caribbean and Central
America since 2014. After crossing the Atlantic, I crewed on a large variety of boats, from luxury yachts, minimalist monohulls to Tall Ships. In 2017, I finally purchased my own 36ft Classic wooden boat “Alani” which I restored by hand in an extensive 3 year project in Guatemala. I have been working as an ASA sailing instructor since 2018. Starting out as a chef/first mate, I quickly moved into the captains position and continued working as a skipper and sailing instructor for Belize Sailing Vacation for 3 seasons. I’ve enjoy teaching for LTD Sailing since 2020 and is still living aboard my own vessel full time. When I’m not busy with sailing classes, , My dog Maya and I are usually found in Carriacou, Grenada’s north island.

Andy Van Zyl

I grew to love the ocean in Cape Town, South Africa. I started off flying kites on the beach,
kitesurfing some of the Southern Ocean Swells, diving in the kelp forests and sailing along its ruggedly beautiful coastline. I spent 6 years working in offshore construction and left to follow my dreams of sailing. I have worked on environmental conservation yachts, working to stop plastic pollution from destroying the life in our oceans which a cause close to my heart. I also have experience in luxury charter yachts around the Caribbean. My certifications include: RYA Yachtmaster Ocean, ASA Instructor, Bachelor’s degree in
Chemical Engineering from the University of Witwatersrand Johannesburg. Living in the
Caribbean on Grenada is in many ways a dream come true for me. I get to explore above and below some of the most beautiful warm waters on the planet while teaching my
passion of sailing.
